Alpha Olefin Sulfonate (AOS) is a high-performance anionic surfactant with excellent biodegradability, low toxicity, and superior compatibility. Nanjing Qino Automatic Control Equipment Co., Ltd. has extensive experience in AOS production plant design and manufacturing, adopting advanced sulfonation processes and mature post-treatment technology to ensure stable product quality.
Our AOS production plant adopts SO₃ membrane sulfonation technology, combined with proprietary aging, hydrolysis, and neutralization processes, producing high-quality AOS products with high active matter content, light color, and excellent performance.
Core Process Flow

Sulfonation Reaction System

• New multi-tube falling film sulfonation reactor.
• Alpha olefin reacts with SO₃ for sulfonation.
• Strict reaction temperature control to prevent side reactions.
• Secondary protection air technology for improved product quality.
• Key Control: Precise control of SO₃/alpha olefin molar ratio.

Aging System

• Sulfonation product enters aging tank for maturation.
• Controlled aging temperature and time.
• Promotes conversion of sultone to olefin sulfonic acid and hydroxy sulfonic acid.
• Aging time: adjusted according to product requirements.

Hydrolysis System

• Sultone hydrolysis to hydroxy sulfonic acid.
• Controlled hydrolysis temperature and water usage.
• Ensures complete hydrolysis for higher active matter content.
• Good product stability after hydrolysis.

Neutralization System

• Continuous neutralization process.
• NaOH solution neutralizes sulfonic acid.
• Controlled neutralization pH value.
• Can produce liquid AOS or spray-dried powder.

Post-Treatment System (Optional)

• Degassing treatment.
• Filtration for impurity removal.
• Active matter content adjustment.
