Proprietary Flash Evaporation & Continuous Neutralization Process

Nanjing Qino Automatic Control Equipment Co., Ltd. has extensive experience and proprietary technology in AES/SLES production. Since building the first 5-ton/hour AES sulfonation unit for Zhejiang Namei Chemical in 2007, the company has developed world-leading proprietary technology in AES continuous flash neutralization.
Our AES production plant adopts an integrated Sulfonation + Continuous Flash Neutralization design, combined with proprietary flash degassing technology, effectively controlling 1,4-dioxane content while ensuring stable product quality meeting national premium standards.
Core Process Flow

Sulfonation Reaction System

• Shared or independent sulfonation system with LABSA plant.
• New multi-tube falling film sulfonation reactor with secondary protection air technology.
• Fatty alcohol ether (AEO) reacts with SO₃ for sulfation.
• Strict reaction temperature control to prevent raw material thermal decomposition.
• Key Control Point: SO₂ conversion rate must be stable before introducing AEO.

Continuous Flash Neutralization System (Core Technology)

1.Four-Material Precise Metering into Neutralization Pump:
• Alcohol ether sulfate (from sulfonation unit, mass flow meter precise metering).
• Liquid caustic (NaOH, mass flow meter control).
• Deionized process water (mass flow meter control).
• Recycled AES (10:1 reflux ratio).
2.High-Shear Mixing Reaction: Four materials fully mixed in neutralization pump.
3.Online pH Control: Inline pH meter continuous tracking, automatic adjustment of caustic addition.
4.Vacuum Flash Evaporation & Degassing:
• Vacuum control: -92KPa.
• Temperature control: 45±3℃.
• Reaction heat removal and degassing through perforated distribution plate.
• Cycle Ratio Control: Approximately 10:1, controlled by outlet pressure regulating valve and VFD.

Product Adjustment & Storage

• Buffer added to AES adjustment tank for pH adjustment.
• Degassed AES pumped to finished product tank.
• Active matter content adjusted by controlling process water addition.
